Move Over Hashtags—Get Your Own Wedding Snapchat Geofilters
Hashtags have been extremely popular over the last couple years, but now you can step up your social media game for the big day even more! Last year, Snapchat launched customized geofilters, and they are starting to get noticed by the wedding industry.
Snapchat describes its geofilters as “special overlays that communicate the ‘where and when’ of a Snap in a fun way, whether you’re sending it to a friend or adding it to your Story.”

Scenes from the 2017 Bridal Open House: Selfie Station
Here’s a fun wrap-up to our look back at the 2017 Bridal Open House: the “selfie station” set up in the basement of the Riddick House. You might notice, in the background, the paper heart garland that Elizabeth blogged about last month.
Here, our managing partner, Jennifer, and her husband, Chris, mug for the camera:
Scenes from the 2017 Bridal Open House: The Riddick House Basement
We’re still sharing scenes from our 2017 Bridal Open House, held February 26. The wedding coordinators got the basement of the Riddick House dolled up in 1950s style.
You might be able to see the “45s” hanging from the ceiling. Another fun thing we noticed about this design is that the blue and red (and red and white) are the same shades of color that Dr. Seuss used in The Cat in the Hat!

Scenes from the 2017 Bridal Open House: The Pergola
For last weekend’s bridal open house, our wedding coordinators decorated our pergola with a giant dreamcatcher. Accented with gorgeous fresh flowers and bright strips of multicolored cloth, the pergola stood in oasis-like contrast to the leafless landscape.
We added a few chairs to evoke a wedding setting, although during actual ceremonies, for big weddings we’ve set out as many as 216 chairs! Our pond-side pergola always makes for a lovely ceremony setting.
Scenes from the 2017 Bridal Open House: The Vendors
Whew! We are still recovering from last weekend’s Bridal Open House–what an event! This week, we’ll offer a few flashback photos from the event. We’ll start with a shot of our main exhibit hall in the Lodge, where twenty-four vendors set up shop for the day to talk with the parade of brides-to-be, grooms-to-be, and their various entourages.
