What We’re Thankful For

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Stevenson Ridge!

To celebrate the holiday, we thought we’d share the things we’re thankful for. Of course, we all said “Family and Friends,” and so we thought we’d go beyond the obvious….

Jennifer:
I’m thankful for wood-burning fires!

Elizabeth:
I am thankful for happiness and laughter—because a day without them is a day wasted.

Erin:
I am thankful for my amazing husband who is not only a wonderful role model for our daughter but for me as well. His positive attitude, determined mindset, and willingness to help others is what makes him a perfect husband, a great father, and a special friend to many. Here’s to many more adventurous and exciting years ahead of us!

Bettina:
One of the things I’m always thankful for during this time of year is that we have a warm place to gather and plenty of food to eat. So many families and people can barely afford one meal a day, and here we are wondering if the 15-pound turkey is enough or should we get more…. It sort of humbles you when you stop to think about what another family might not have this holiday.

Gail:
I am truly thankful this year for God’s healing mercy and powers. I am blessed to have so many prayer warriors interceding for me and hope they will continue to do so in the next phase of my health endeavors. I am grateful for all those who have helped me along the way this year and hope to be more of a “helper” to others in the upcoming year as I get stronger!

Frank:
I’m thankful for working at Stevenson Ridge. At lot of people don’t work. I’m glad to have the chance.

Chris:
One of the things I challenge my students to do each semester is “notice things.” The world is full of small wonders if you just pay attention. Even the most commonplace things can be interesting and even amazing—but the real challenge is to slow down and notice those things. They are all around us. I’m thankful that the world is full of so many wonderful things!

And of course, we are all thankful for YOU. We share in some of the happiest days of people’s lives, which makes our jobs so enriching and wonderful. Thanks to all our brides and grooms, wedding guests, overnight guests who stay in the cabins, battlefield visitors who walk the grounds, and all the event professionals we get to work with—you are among the things we are all thankful for.
