Chris’s pumpkin pie fixin’s

Earlier this week, Erin talked about the cranberry-and-sherbert punch that her family makes every year for Thanksgiving. Here are some of the other traditions folks at the Ridge have for the holiday:

Jennifer:
Sipping mimosas and watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Chris:
A few years ago, when my son and I were having Thanksgiving for just the two of us, I made my first pumpkin pie. I followed the recipe on the can, and Jackson picked out a Nilla Wafer crust for it—and it came out just perfect. Ever since, he and I have made a pie together.

Elizabeth:
No real Timms/Ward tradition… just go to grandmother’s and help her cook “dinner.” We eat more at lunch, then I go to my boyfriend’s sister’s for dinner. Sometimes at her house, we start talking about Christmas presents for the kids and looking through all of the catalogs we get for Black Friday.

Bettina:
I can’t really think of any “neat” traditions that my family has—we’re pretty traditional in the sense that we do the turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, etc… Being Vietnamese, we do always have to have some sort of Vietnamese food as well. This year we’re doing:
