From a Guest in the Log Home

It’s always nice to hear that one of our inn guests had a great stay. We recently had this five-star rating come to us via TripAdvisor:

“What an amazing place! Loved it so much we turned a two-day stay into a three-day stay and we still didn’t want to leave. Fresh from commencement at National Harbor, MD—Masters in History from American Public University—I wanted to continue with the history theme, [and] the Log Home looked like the perfect way to do that. Photos on the web do not do it justice, however—upon arrival, we were completely blown away by all of it, from the outsized warm welcome from Debbie and Dan when we pulled in to the look and feel and amenities of this amazing cabin.

“We both spent a lot of time on the covered porch overlooking the pond—coffee and tea with a book in the morning, beer and snacks in the evening. One night we sat out during a downpour and played chess with the Civil War chess set while rain peppered the pond! Walked the property and checked out the other cottages, as well as the Civil War trenches, did a tour of Spotsylvania battlefield with John Cummings that was great, spent lots of quality time chilling at the cabin, which is so wonderful that it defies superlatives—antique look and feel in a genuine 1830s log cabin but modern amenities including central air and shower.

“Could not have had a better time and can’t wait to find a reason to make the long drive back for Mother’s Day! I highly recommend this place to anybody who wants to have the best time of their life!”
