With the overflow of newly engaged couples over the holiday season, we’re excited to see what bridal experts have predicted as the most popular trends for the upcoming year. This is what we expect to see at the Ridge…
- Metallic: Rose gold and copper will be the most popular color choices in 2016 (we saw an increase last year in rose gold engagement rings).
- Bold Lighting: Making a bold statement with mix match chandeliers or with an abundance of candles really gives the venue a WOW factor.
- Mix + Match Style: We’re going to see a dynamic designs that mix and match different styles to create weddings that are unexpected, bold, and gorgeous. So why not have a rustic-meets-glam wedding?
- Patterns: Most event design vendors are noticing a shift towards patterns in linens, plates, and invitations. Patterns in your wedding are taking it to the next level.
- Boudoir Session: We’ve noticed an increase in boudoir sessions at the Ridge. These photo sessions are fun way to surprise your new hubby with something a little sexy.
- Loose, organic florals: These floral designs started gaining popularity last year but will be even bigger this year. Brides want their weddings to be elegant but simple, and less-structured floral design reflects that. There’s a movement towards more organic elements outside of florals with feathers, agate, and lots of greenery.
- Wedding Dress Separates: Brides are foregoing the traditional one-piece dresses and opting for fashion-forward two-pieces with a removable skirt. This gives brides a more modern, chic-and-sexy look in the most elegant way.
- Pre-Ceremony Cocktails: Couples want to welcome their guests and kick off the festivities before everyone takes their seats or while waiting for the service to begin.
- Canine Companions: Since we’re pet-friendly at the Ridge, we encourage brides to bring their four-legged friends to be a part of their special day. Plus we get to play with some awesome puppies before or after the ceremony!
- Color Palettes Accented with Rich Hues: We’ll see more brides incorporate rich colors and jewel tones into their celebrations. From deep reds and maroons to dark greens and blues, these colors really shout elegance with a modern approach.
- So Long, Strapless: Even during the warmer months, we’ll see more brides choosing to cover their shoulders, and designers are creating gorgeous gowns that do just that!
- Intimate Weddings & Elopements: Experts believe 2016 will see an increase in smaller-sized ceremonies. Perfect for private couples who want their special day to be significant by sharing it with those who truly love and know them the best.
- Vintage-Inspired Engagement Rings: When it comes to the bling, more and more brides are looking into the past. These newly engaged brides are saying “YES!” to a heirloom ring or a new ring inspired by a vintage design. It’s a trend that is coming in strong for this year.
- Calligraphy Everywhere: There’s something to be said about beautiful hand-written calligraphy, so we’re excited to see it more this year—and not just on paper goods. We’ve already seen it on cake toppers, place cards, and other fun little décor details.
- After-Parties: Couples are opting out of the traditional departure at the end of the night to continue the party at the after-party! At the Ridge, we recommend Downtown Fredericksburg to brides looking to continue the night into the early morning.
