The Inn

The Inn at Stevenson Ridge consists of six historical homes dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries.  Each home is rented out to one family/group at a time. Pricing is based on whether 1 or 2 bedrooms are to be included in the rental.  All houses are equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave/toaster.  Some of the homes are outfitted with a complete kitchen, making it a wonderful option for extended vacation.  Breakfast is NOT included in the price of lodging.  However, a continental-style Breakfast Basket of fresh foods and beverages is available at an additional charge and will be delivered to your door.  We offer pet-friendly accommodations.  Pet fee starts at $25 per stay.  Limit two pets per cottage.  To inquire about availability or to book one of our private cottages, please contact us at (540)582-6263 or email info@stevensonridge.net.  For additional photos of our cottages, visit our the Photo Gallery.  *Check out our packages and specials!

 

The Riddick House

In this exquisitely adorned plantation home, history meets elegance. Originally built in 1812 and moved to Stevenson Ridge in 2010, the Riddick House offers two guest rooms with private baths, a dining area, multiple lounging areas, a front porch with rocking chairs and birdsong, and a back deck overlooking our pond. There are fireplaces in the kitchen, dining, and both guest rooms. Barstools in the sunroom once belonged to Elvis Presley, and a desk in the master bedroom once sat in President Franklin Roosevelt’s Oval Office. The master bedroom boasts a king-sized bed, flat-screen television, soaking tub, and a walk-in ceramic-tiled shower. The guest room, located between the master bedroom and library, has a queen-sized bed, walk-in ceramic-tiled shower, and views of the woods that surround the Riddick House. Each bedroom has a maximum occupancy of 2 guests. Stow-away beds can be brought in for up to 2 guests for an additional charge. The total maximum occupancy is 6 persons. Entertaining is strictly prohibited. Gas stove and oven available upon request only. Security deposit required.

The Civil War House

The Civil War House, built in the mid to late 1800’s, was the main home at Stevenson Ridge until the current owners purchased the property in 2001. An addition constructed in the 1950s was removed in 2001 in order to restore the home to its original condition. The home still boasts its original wood flooring. This 1800-square-foot antique home is befitting for a couple or small family, and the full kitchen makes it perfect for extended stay.* The home includes a master bedroom with queen-sized bed and a loft with a full bed; a full bath; a complete kitchen; a dining room with a wood-burning fireplace; and lounging deck. The master bedroom boasts a gas fireplace. Pet friendly.

The Log Home

The Log Home at Stevenson Ridge makes for a perfect romantic getaway or relaxing weekend. This 1830s home offers two bedrooms (master and loft), 1.5 baths, a kitchenette/dining room, a living room, and four wood-burning fireplaces. The kitchenette has a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and toaster oven. There are no televisions or telephones, so be sure to bring a good book to read in front of the fireplace or in one of the rocking chairs on the front porch overlooking the pond. Each room has a two-person maximum occupancy. The home has a total maximum occupancy of four guests.

The Spy Hill House

Our oldest structure at Stevenson Ridge dates back to 1732: the Spy Hill House. This two-story home boasts a master suite with a queen bed, a bathroom adorned with modern fixtures, two wood-burning fireplaces, a living room, a kitchenette, and a private patio overlooking the pond. Nestled among a heavy cluster of trees, the Spy Hill House is ideal for a quiet, secluded retreat. The antique furnishings and natural decor will evoke feelings of a more simple time, leaving you refreshed and revived.

The Adrian Cabin

This quaint log cabin tucked back in the thick woods of Stevenson Ridge offers a perfect sanctuary. Guests have called it “tranquil,” “so homey,” and “perfectly beautiful.” “Such an amazing little glen,” said one. With a private patio amid Virginia’s nature and wildlife, you will feel the weight lift off your shoulders. “How do you describe the feeling of home? The smell…the texture…. So quiet and peaceful out here. This place is adorable.”

The Corn Crib

This renovated corn shed mimics a studio apartment, combining a rustic theme with ceramic tile, bright hues, and a wood-burning fireplace. “A cute place with a lot of character,” said one guest. Another called it “a storybook picturesque setting.” The kitchenette, breakfast nook, and comfortable living space will make this your home away from home! The Corn Crib is also completely handicap accessible. Pet friendly.

The Servants’ Quarters

This one-bedroom rustic lodging, which dates back to the 1850s, is ideal for history enthusiasts: it was once the home to servants of the White Oak Plantation in Greene County, Virginia. A wood-burning fireplace keeps the downstairs cozy; the sleeping quarters, with two twin beds, are in the loft above. The home also features a clawfoot bathtub and shower and, tucked under the stairs, an open-air bathroom (no door—but it does have a privacy curtain!). During warm months, guests can also opt for the private outdoor bathhouse adjacent to the wooden porch. While visiting, take a tour of our extensive Civil War trenches within walking distance from your quarters.

The Post Office

Rumored to be an in-home post office in Greene County, VA, this cabin has been restored to provide you with a charming getaway. The loft bedroom provides a cozy view of the wood-burning fireplace in the living room below. A huge bay window next to the kitchenette/dining room offers a beautiful view of the surrounding forest. As the newest addition to Stevenson Ridge, the Post Office is pet free for anyone with severe allergies. It’s also our “greenest” building, with several environmentally friendly enhancements.
