With Virginia Wine Month coming to a close, I wanted to shine a little light onto Stevenson Ridge’s new fall favorite, Rack ‘n Barrel Bourbon Barrel Aged Red Blend. It may not be a Virginia wine, but it is one that should be appreciated this fall! The bold flavor will surely keep you cozy through these brisk, what-feels-like-winter nights we have experienced this October.
This red blend is created through a combination of cabernet sauvignon, zinfandel, and syrah, forming flavors of dark fruit and black pepper spice. The aging process in bourbon barrels draws out flavors like vanilla, caramel, and oak.
This magnificent blend pairs well with barbecue and smoked or grilled meats. Stevenson Ridge will be featuring a pairing at an upcoming event this November with the Bourbon Barrel and charcoal-grilled Argentine steak with a chimichurri sauce.
