If you’ve been to Stevenson Ridge and met our coordinators, you’ll quickly learn we’re animal lovers. All of our own four-legged critters have become our babies. We welcome guests to bring their pets for overnight stays, and we even encourage brides and grooms to make their pets part of their wedding day. When people hear those magic words that their furry champion can join them, their eyes just light up!
My most recent bride took advantage our pet-friendly property and brought along her 8-year old shih tzu, Isabella “Izzy,” for her wedding weekend. During the rehearsal, Izzy ran around the grounds, exploring the new smells but never wandered too far from mommy and daddy. On the wedding day, Izzy sat at the bride and groom’s feet while watching them exchange their vows. After, she sat patiently on the bride’s gown while the bride took photos with everyone—family members, the bridal party, and of course the groom. During the reception, Izzy greeted everyone with her wagging tail while enjoying the company.
Toward the end of the night, Izzy was ready for bed before everyone else was. We found her in the foyer sleeping on the rug. She would gently raise her head to say goodbye when guests would walk by.
This fur-baby was such a treat to have at the Ridge and everyone—including the staff—got to love on her.
It’s moments like these that you’ll remember forever—and of course, you want your entire family there, two or four-legs!
