Summer Retreats

We’ve been fortunate this month to play host to a number of different corporate and business retreats, which lets us shift gears from “wedding mode” to something a bit different. Of course, with June being prime wedding month, we’ve had some wonderful couples, and that has kept our weekends full and busy! But because weddings are typically scheduled on weekends, that leaves plenty of days in between for us to keep busy.

Retreats have typically consisted of a morning get-together with coffee and a light breakfast, although we did have one group earlier this summer that stayed on the property for the week and ordered a full breakfast for the group every day. After some meeting time in the morning, groups break for lunch. That means Chef Brad and his kitchen staff have to shift right from breakfast mode into lunch-prep mode, and just as our staff gets one meal cleared, it’s already time to start pulling supplies, equipment, and dishware for the next.

Depending on the retreat, we’ve had some groups break after their afternoon session. Others have had us serve up a light Happy Hour so that everyone can socialize and unwind. We’ve also prepared dinner for retreaters, too.

Each group has its own requirements–from catering to A/V–and each one is different in size, so it’s a lot of fun making each one perfect.
