You’ve heard the phrase “Great minds think alike.” One reason that happens is that great minds put their heads together to make sure everyone’s thinking the same great thoughts. In the business world, that often means a company retreat, which gives people the opportunity to talk about plans and goals and strategies and get on the same page.
This weekend, many of my colleagues from Emerging Civil War are getting together for our annual retreat. It’s a treat for me because I get to sit around a table with a bunch of minds greater than mine who then inspire and challenge me all day long, which I find invigorating. As a team, we come away with exciting plans and a renewed commitment to our shared work.
One reason we like Stevenson Ridge, in particular, is because we host our annual Emerging Civil War Symposium at Stevenson Ridge. This year’s event, August 4-6, will focus on “Great Defenses of the Civil War.” We’ve grown so big that we’re moving the entire event from the Riddick House into the Lodge.
